'Social Justice' and 'Reservation' are the words which have motivated the Indian society and politics right from the days of Independence of the country in August 1947 and the dream amply reflected in our polity and constitution as well to realise in days to come. Over the years and decades, the theme of both-social justice and reservation evaporated gradually, becoming today merely a political slogan to gain political power in this multi-ethnic, multi-cultural nation whose only strength is its unity in diversity. In addition, the coming and expansion of globalisation from 1980s has exposed the inherent weaknesses of polity and its limited reach with vast opportunities but shrinking government jobs where reservation is to be applied for socially, economically and educationally disadvantageous groups. In the prevailing situation omnipresence of corruption, illiteracy and social divisions have put the justice everywhere in danger posing a challenge for the polity itself.
